Music to brighten the darkest of Winter afternoons!
Rossini's overture to The Silken Ladder provides an introduction to Schumann's cello concerto (Soloist - Hugh Mackay), and we end the concert with Beethoven's mighty Symphony No 3 (Eroica).
Please note the change of venue: we will be performing at St Lukes Church
Our season concludes on Sunday 27th April. Ravel's Tombeau de Couperin is a departure from the strictly classical music that we have performed to date. Originally written as a piano suite of six movements, the orchestral version contains four movements, each movement being dedicated to the memory of a friend of the composer (or in one case, two brothers) who had died fighting in The Great War.
We will also perform Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto in E Minor and Mozart Symphony No 35 (Haffner).
Tickets will be available through Ticketsource.
Trent Chamber Orchestra is proud to support The Friary, Nottingham, a local charity with a distinctly Christian foundation whose mission is to empower homeless and vulnerable adults to rebuild their lives by offering practical services, advice and emotional support.
